This program, led by the Student Senate President Pro Tempore, offers current Florida State University students an exclusive opportunity to gain hands-on experience with the Student Senate. Open to individuals who are not current or former members of the Senate, it provides an in-depth exploration of Senate operations and the legislative process.

Participants will actively engage in meaningful activities such as:

  • Attending Senate and Committee meetings.
  • Drafting and reviewing legislation.
  • Meeting with senators and Senate Leadership.
  • Participating in specialized legislation skill sessions for practical learning.
  • Gaining a thorough understanding of the SGA legislative process.

This program is designed with flexibility in mind, enabling participants to complete it within one semester, tailored to their own schedules and availability. The experience aims to equip students with the skills and knowledge necessary to serve in the Student Government Association's Legislative Branch while fostering a passion for advocacy and leadership.

Applications are now accepted on a rolling basis, providing students with the flexibility to apply at a time that best suits their academic and personal commitments. This approach ensures accessibility and encourages greater participation.

If you are a service-minded individual with a vision for improving the university experience and a desire to make an impact through legislative work, we encourage you to apply.
