Department of Academic Affairs

Research Grants Coordinator
Created to ensure students have access to information regarding funding for their undergraduate
research projects spanning various topics and disciplines. Reports to the Secretary of Academic
Affairs.

Undergraduate Research Publications Coordinator
Created to implement sustained institutionalized support for students and their endeavors in
publishing research in research journals and publications. Reports to the Secretary of Academic
Affairs.

Professional Development Coordinator
Created to be the main liaison to the FSU Career Center, where they will guarantee students are
aware of and have access to opportunities to build their professional experience. Reports to the
Secretary of Academic Affairs.

Department of Health, Wellness, and Safety

Health Advocacy Coordinator
Created to serve as the liaison to CAPS and UHS as well as convey student needs alongside
student-focused initiatives while expanding the reach of health services provided by FSU. Reports
to the Secretary of Health, Wellness, and Safety.

Campus Wellness Coordinator
Created to serve as the liaison to CHAW, ensuring the nine dimensions of wellness are addressed
through student advocacy and initiatives.Reports to the Secretary of Health, Wellness, and Safety.

Safety Innovation Coordinator
Created to serve as the liaison to TAPS and FSUPD and prioritize initiatives such as pedestrian
safety and improving blue light services to ensure students are not endangered on campus. Reports
to the Secretary of Health, Wellness, and Safety.

NEW POSITIONS ESTABLISHED

Bill Drafter
The Bill Drafter shall operate under the direction of the Clerk and shall serve as the primary technical writing resource for the Student Senate. The duties of the Bill Drafter shall include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting Senators in the technical writing, formatting, and drafting of legislation to ensure compliance with Student Body Statutes, Senate Rules of Procedure, and provided Senate formatting guidelines
  • Proactively collaborating with Senators on the drafting of legislation prior to formal submission
  • Receiving all legislation submitted by Senators, ensuring proper preparation and formatting, before transmitting such legislation to the Clerk for inclusion on the weekly agenda

Assistant Clerk
The Assistant Clerk shall operate under the direction of the Clerk and shall assist in tracking legislation and executing administrative duties within the Chamber. The duties of the Assistant Clerk shall include, but are not limited to:

  • Serving as the primary officer responsible for managing and compiling all standing committee agendas and committee agenda packets, as well as the agendas for any ad hoc committees and college delegation meetings while ensuring their postage at least 24 hours in advance of their respective meetings
  • Tracking and managing all amendments passed in committee, as well as any amendments submitted by Senators prior to being heard on the Senate floor or in committee

Assistant Historian(s)
The Assistant Historian(s) shall operate under the direction of the Historian and shall assist in taking official minutes during full Senate sessions. The duties of the Assistant Historian(s) shall include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting the Historian in taking official minutes during full Senate Chamber sessions
  • Taking, formatting, and finalizing all minutes for standing committee meetings, ad hoc committee meetings, and college delegation meetings
  • Ensuring that all completed committee and delegation minutes are properly compiled and added to the weekly Senate Agenda for formal approval, with all such minutes uploaded to CivicPlus within twenty-four (24) hours of their respective meetings

Digital Media Officer
The Digital Media Officer shall operate under the direction of the Public Affairs Officer and shall assist in maintaining the Senate's digital communications and outreach presence. The duties of the Digital Media Officer shall include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintaining the Senate's social media presence via Instagram, LinkedIn, and any other platform deemed necessary by the Senate President
  • Creating and executing a comprehensive monthly content calendar encompassing all digital platforms and outreach efforts

Technology Officer
The Technology Officer shall serve as the primary technology administrator for the Student Senate, responsible for the overarching management, maintenance, and oversight of all digital infrastructure and physical technical equipment utilized by the legislative branch. The duties of the Technology Officer shall include, but are not limited to:

  • Managing the administration of all official Student Senate email accounts, including those assigned to Senate Officers and standing committees
  • Generating virtual Zoom links for all legislative proceedings and managing the creation and administration of all official Student Senate Qualtrics forms
  • Managing CivicPlus training, technical troubleshooting, and permissions for Senators;
  • Serving as the CivicPlus Zoom recording and camera operator during Senate sessions and providing technical support during standing committee meetings when requested
  • Maintaining a comprehensive technical manual for the Senate while acting as the primary liaison to the SGA Webmaster for website updates
  • Ensuring that every Senate meeting, standing committee meeting, ad hoc committee meeting, and college delegation meeting is actively recorded via Zoom, with resulting recordings immediately uploaded to CivicPlus for public record following adjournment
