From time to time, there are opportunities for students to serve on SGA and external University-wide committees covering a range of FSU departments. Most appointments are either appointed on a year-round basis, with students participating in regular recurring meetings; while some committees may only meet for a specific purpose each year and last for a few days or weeks. Student appointments are typically made by either the Student Body President or the Student Senate President.

Academic Honor Policy Committee (AHP)
This committee meets each semester to monitor the operation and effectiveness of the Academic Honor Policy, work with the Faculty Senate and the Student Senate to educate all members of the community regarding academic integrity, and make recommendations for changes to the policy. The committee may also meet to take over jurisdiction of Academic Honor cases under extraordinary circumstances.

Admissions Committee
This committee is concerned with ruling on appeal cases relating to undergraduate admission and recommending policy regarding University admission, subject to the ultimate authority and discretion of the President.

Calendar Committee
This committee will deliberate on, and recommend, an academic calendar for each school year to the University Provost & Vice President for Academic Affairs.

Capital Improvement Trust Fund Committee (CITF)
This committee meets every few years whenever new funding becomes available for University capital improvements and recommends suitable projects for potential funding allocation. The committee may also recommend changes to the Capital Improvement Trust Fund fee

College Leadership Council Funding Committee
This committee meets each year to distribute funding to FSU’s student-led College Leadership Councils (CLCs). The committee, chaired by the Student Body Treasurer, hears requests from CLCs, deliberates on funding levels, and recommends allocations to the Student Senate for approval.

Golden Torch Lecture Series Committee
The Golden Torch Lecture Series will be an academically focused speaker series that attempts to connect students to outstanding individuals who are either experts in their field or working at the forefront of a relevant political or social issue. The mission of the series is to engage students in issues and dialogue that will positively benefit their overall academic, scholastic, or humanitarian experience. This committee works to select the speakers and work on overall promotion and merchandise of Golden Torch-related programming.

Appointed by: Student Body President (4), Student Senate President (1, Senators only). The Student Body President & Senate President can choose to also appoint designees in place of their own spots on the committee.

Local Fees Committee
This committee meets to hear presentations and recommend potential changes to the Activity & Service fee, Health fee, and Athletics fee which are assessed to students as part of tuition each semester. These recommendations are then presented to the University President and Board of Trustees for ultimate approval.

Technology Fee Committee
This committee meets every year to distribute funding for “innovative and critical technology projects” to University colleges and FSU IT organizations. This funding collected from the Student Technology Fee which is assessed from tuition each semester.

Transportation Advisory Group
The University Transportation Advisory Group provides guidance and recommendations on matters affecting the main campus parking services program, campus pedestrian safety, the campus bus system, and any other alternative transportation methods under Transportation and Parking Services. This committee plays a crucial role in advising on policies, procedures, and improvements to ensure efficient and effective transportation solutions for students, faculty, and staff. Through its advisory capacity, the group aims to enhance the overall campus transportation experience by addressing current challenges and anticipating future needs across all transportation modes.

Office of Business Services Advisory Council
FSU’s Office of Business Services offers students the ability to serve on three advisory councils which provide the opportunity to provide feedback and insight on campus services and amenities.

Bookstore Advisory Council (BAC)
The purpose of the FSU Bookstore Advisory Council (BAC) is to advise the Associate Vice President for Finance and Administration, and foster communication and act as a liaison between the FSU Bookstore management and the University community. The BAC will periodically review the University Bookstore programs with respect to its effectiveness and acceptance by the University community and review potential new products and/or services as requested by FSU Bookstore management.
Dining Advisory Council (DAC)
The purpose of the FSU Dining Advisory Council (DAC) is to advise the Associate Vice President for Finance and Administration, and foster communication and act as a liaison between Seminole Dining management and the University community. The DAC will periodically review the University Dining programs with respect to its effectiveness and acceptance by the University community and review potential new products and/or services as requested by Seminole Dining management.
Donald L. Tucker Center Advisory Council (TCAC)
The purpose of the FSU Tucker Center Advisory Council (TCAC) is to recommend policies and procedures contributing to the general effectiveness of the Center including, but not limited to, general philosophy, parking regulations, service growth, event planning, space allocation, enforcement guidelines, and act as a liaison between the Center and the University community. The TCAC shall have non-binding advisory responsibility for matters of policy and direction concerning the Center’s planning and events.
