Public Notice: Application COGS Presentation and Attendance Grants for the next funding period (March 1st - June 30th ) will be open on February 1st. APPLICATION UPDATE: Attendance and Presentation Grants application portals are no longer separate. Instead, select if requesting funds for presentation or attendance within the new consolidated COGS Conference Support Grant Application Portal.

Budget Packets for the 2025-2026 fiscal year (July 2025-June 2026) are due NO LATER than noon, Friday, February 21st, 2024. Late or incomplete packets will not be accepted. Hearings and deliberations will be held every school day from Wednesday, February 26th to Thursday, March 6th. A link to set preferences is included on the page after you submit your request. Please save that link. Please have a 20-minute time slot in mind for one or two of these dates. If you do not sign up for a Budget Hearing, we will assign you a date and time where you must have a representative from your organization attend. There are currently four (3) standing committees in COGS. Members are appointed by the Speaker, and with the exception of the Budget Committee, meets at least once every two months.

Each committee has a chair who is elected by its members. Committees (with the exception of the budget committee) reports to the Congress on their activities at each meeting of the Assembly.

 

Internal Affairs:

  • Prepare and distribute the monthly COGS newsletter
  • Keep website information updated
  • Outreach to fill vacant seats in the Assembly
  • Relations between COGS and the SGA, MSC, and LSC
  • Oversight all COGS funding expenditure
  • Train new COGS members
  • Make/Propose amendments to the COGS Code
  • Hear cases of impeachment and removal prior to the full Assembly
  • Maintain attendance records, and initiate removal proceedings for members who are no longer in compliance with attendance requirements
  • All other areas in which the Chair and the Speaker agree the committee should focus
