Membership

 

The purpose of The Omicron Delta Kappa Society is threefold:

 

1. To recognize those who have attained a high standard of leadership in collegiate activities and to inspire others to do the same;

2. To bring together the diversity of the student body in all phases of collegiate life and thus to create an organization which will help to mold the sentiment of the institution on questions of local and intercollegiate interest;

3. To bring together members of the faculty and student body of the university, on a basis of mutual interest and understanding.

 

Florida State University's circle of Omicron Delta Kappa is a genuine fellowship of engaged students, faculty/staff, and alumni that shapes, recognizes, and supports the continued growth of campus leadership. ODK is the nation's leading collegiate honor society, which seeks to encourage and recognize the highest achievement in various aspects of campus life; primarily leadership, scholarship, and service. Circle membership is open to junior and senior students, as well as graduate students who have attended Florida State University for at least one semester. Nominations for membership are also available for faculty and staff who demonstrate outstanding characteristics in one or more of the noted areas.

 

During fall and spring semesters, ODK will send out invitations to apply for membership to undergraduate and graduate student who qualify for the academic requirements of admission. Interested candidates should follow the instructions within this invitation and submit an application online through the National Omicron Delta Kappa website. Candidates will be invited to sign up for in-person interviews. Selected candidates will be notified with an invitation to a Formal Tapping Ceremony and Induction Ceremony within two weeks of their interviews.

There is a  $25 application fee.

If selected, lifetime membership dues of $90.00 are due prior to the Induction Ceremony.
