Greeting Members & Visitors

President: Anthony Wright, Jr.
On behalf of The Florida State University Chapter of Progressive Black Men, Inc., I would like to welcome you to our website.  My name is Anthony Wright, Jr. and I serve as the 2008-2009 President of this prestigious chapter. The Florida State University Chapter of Progressive Black Men Inc. was founded on November 27, 1989. Our mission is to eradicate the negative stereotypes placed upon African American Males. This is achieved through our principles of Academic Excellence, Fellowship of Brothers, and Communal Support.

As the first chapter, we constantly strive in continuing the legacy that was established in 1989, not only within the organization, but on the campus of Florida State University as a whole.  We have sponsored many service projects in the Tallahassee area; participating with FSU Love the Kids, Relay for Life, Faculty Appreciation Day and the annual Dance Explosion. The Florida State Chapter also gives out an annual scholarship to deserving high school individuals who exemplify outstanding community service.

I urge you to make your stance and your claim in our future.  Past SGA Presidents, Black Student Union Presidents, Homecoming Kings, SGA Senators and presidents of various clubs and organizations hold membership within our chapter.  Thus, we are fortunate to have talented, intelligent and mature brothers to aid you on your journey towards your success.

Once again, we welcome you members and visitors, and hope that you continue to visit our website and attend our events. It’s going to be a great year, so don’t miss out!

Anthony Wright, Jr.
