Students will have actual sidewalks to walk on, as well as a wider roadway with bike lanes marked on the pavement for cyclists. Remember to ride with traffic, not against it. Effective Cycling Classes are offered Saturday, October 11 and Saturday, November 8 at the YMCA on Apalachee Parkway from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. The classes include a classroom component and cycling component. Cost is $25. Call Neil Dimacali at 878-7515 for information. Critical Mass leaves from the fountain in front of the Ruby Diamond Auditorium on Friday, October 24 at 4:30 p.m. Come for a fun, educational, ride in rush hour traffic. Call Dan Abell at 853-3690 for more information. Halloween on Wheels promises to be a fun-filled urban bike ride. This month the Celebration of Urban Possibilities Ride coincides with Halloween and the Homecoming Pow Wow. Wear a costume while you ride your bike around the downtown area. Meet at City Hall at 5:30 on October 31 and be ready to have fun. Bike on Bus Taltran buses all have bike racks on the front. Take your bike on the bus for no extra cost. It takes only seconds to load and unload. Try out the practice rack and pick up a route map in the Ogelsby Union. Remember, your FSU card lets you ride for free in the FSU Fare Free Zone. Streets and Drainage If you see city streets, sidewalks, or bike lanes in desperate need of cleaning or repair, call the city's Hotline at 891-5250 or send a request for service via e-mail to Diane Bradley. |
