Garnet & Gold Goes Green:

Volunteers are needed at each home football game to encourage Seminole fans to recycle!  Check out the 2009 football schedule and send an email to recycling@fsu.edu with the dates that you wish to volunteer.

Become an Eco-Rep:

Eco-Reps are organized, committed student volunteers charged with increasing sustainable behaviors on campus through peer-to-peer outreach and leadership.  FSU Sustainable Campus Initiative is looking for creative, out-going and responsible students interested in educating their peers about environmental issues and personal impacts.  For more information, check out: http://www.sustainablecampus.fsu.edu/ecoreps

Damayan Gardening Project:

Damayan welcomes volunteers who want to learn more about organic practices and who enjoy gardening at any level.  Come and help garden on Wednesdays between 10:30 and 2:30 at Lichgate, 1401 High Road.

Leon County Humane Society:

Without our volunteers, the LCHS would not be able to coordinate its many events throughout the year, much less fund such important community programs like our spay/neuter campaign and financial assistance program.  If you would like to volunteer:

  • Please review our volunteer opportunities listed at http://www.lchs.info/
  • Fill out the VOLUNTEER APPLICATION and return it to our office in person, by mail, email, or by fax.
  • Call our office at 224-9193 if you would like more information.

ECAH Animals, Inc:

  • Become a Foster Guardian to a needy pet.  ECAH Animals, Inc is currently enrolling new foster volunteers into our program.
  • Volunteer at one of our fundraisers or adoption booths.  We are sometimes in need of additional staff to help us set up our booth, greet our visitors and hand out brochures, and help us close our booths at the end of the event.  We can also use help prepping up our pooches before they arrive at the adoption booth.
  • Volunteer as a handyperson to help us maintain our kennels.

If you would like to volunteer with ECAH Animals please call us at 850-668-1004.

Florida State Parks:

Volunteers can do many things -- greet visitors, conduct tours, help rangers remove exotic plants or maintain the natural beauty of a beach, waterway or trail.
If you would like to volunteer in the Florida State Park system, please review the volunteer opportunity descriptions on each park’s webpage and use the online form at http://www.floridastateparks.org/volunteers/default.cfm, which will provide greater efficiency in matching you to available opportunities.
