The FSU Environmental Service Program is an affiliated project of the FSU Student Government Association. Our mission is to organize environmental service activities for the FSU student body, as well as engage in environmental activism and education on the FSU campus and in the Tallahassee community. We also periodically initiate projects to improve the sustainability of the FSU campus.
Examples of service activities we host are environmental clean-ups, tree plantings, and ecosystem restoration projects. We also host educational events such as film screenings, guest lectures, the Commuter Choices Fair in the fall, and the Focus the Nation town hall in the spring. We work for a variety of environmental causes, such as climate change mitigation, wildlife protection, and ecosystem conservation. We attend environmental conferences and go on camping trips to some of our volunteer sites. We strive to maintain relationships with all other campus and community environmentally-related organizations, and we curate an environmental volunteer opportunity database.
