Welcome to S.A.F.E. Connection:
A Crime Prevention Program Dedicated to Saving Student Lives
S.A.F.E. Connection transports students for free. Students on campus are served through an escort service. Students who are under the influence of alcohol, or who are off campus, can take advantage of the Night Nole to get back to campus. S.A.F.E Connection, formally known as Student Alert Force Escort Connection, also promotes awareness of the dangers of driving under the influence of alcohol. Sponsored by the Student Government Association, S.A.F.E. Connection is an affiliated project with the FSU Police Department. The project promotes education, activities and programs concerning crime prevention and safety to the students, faculty, staff and visitors of Florida State University. Operating hours vary throughout the year as people are escorted about the service areas.
The S.A.F.E Connection Board of Directors is comprised of the Student Body President or his/her designee, the Senate President or his/her designee, the FSU Public Safety Director, the Student Campus Security Advisor, the SGA Advisor, one Senator elected by the Senate, the Director of S.A.F.E. Connection and the Assistant Director of S.A.F.E. Connection.
S.A.F.E. Connection's equipment includes radios, flashlights, four limo golf carts (holding six passengers), and two vans (holding 12-15 passengers).
Operational Hours and Procedures
You may use a Blue Light phone to call S.A.F.E. Connection if you are on campus.
S.A.F.E. Connection operates from 7 p.m. until 3 a.m. seven days a week during the fall, spring and summer semesters.
The program closes on breaks between the semesters, on holidays recognized by the University, and on home football game days.

Several stations are set up on campus for S.A.F.E. Connection employees to be at or near:

Walking escorts will be assigned only when a S.A.F.E. Employee is near the caller and the distance to the destination is relatively close. Upon arriving at the pick-up location, the escort will radio in the time to the base and the time when the escort is complete.
Drivers are in control of the vehicle. They allow only persons with a valid FSU ID to enter the vehicle, and allow only the number of persons that can comfortably fit in the seats to enter the vehicle.
