The American Indian Student Union, originally the Native American Student Association, was founded in 1995 with Anita Gonzalez as advisor. AISU serves, as a whole, to promote and provide for the social welfare of the American Indian student community at Florida State University. We are also a cultural and educational means for the FSU population, offering cultural awareness and materials to promote American Indian culture.

AISU does a variety of events including workshops, educational seminars and musical events. One of the big event times for AISU is in November, as we celebrate Native American Awareness (or Heritage) Month. This is when all the events for fall go on. Look out for promotions for this November in October. We also do spring events.

AISU is open to everyone, whether you are native or not. You just need to have an interest to join the group.
