Rosalia Contreras

The Student Body President, elected by the fellow student body each spring semester, administers and enforces all laws of the Student Body.  Powers of the Executive Branch reside in the Student Body President, as well as, the Student body Vice President. The Student Body President creates programs to address the needs of students. The Student Body President sits on the FSU Board of Trustees, the Seminole Torchbearers, the Civic Center Authority Board and the Foundation Board of Trustees.

About

Rosalia Contreras

Rosalia “Rosie” Contreras is president of the Student Government Association. A junior, she is pursuing dual bachelor’s degrees in international affairs and women’s studies from the College of Social Sciences and Public Policy.

Ms. Contreras is a member of the Garnet and Gold Key Honor Society and the Seminole Torchbearers. She previously served as the Director of the Hispanic/Latino Student Union, an agency of the Student Government Association, as well as a two-time board member of the Office of Governmental Affairs.

She was first elected to Florida State’s Student Senate representing the College of Social Sciences in the spring of her freshman year. She is the recipient of the 64th Student Senate Ethics Award and the Milton S. Carothers Ethical Courage Award. At the age of 2, she emigrated with her family from Santiago de Cuba to Melbourne, Florida.
